Brighten Your Smile with Teeth Whitening

A bright, white smile is often seen as a symbol of youth and attractiveness. Whether your teeth have become discoloured due to the natural aging process or dietary habits, if you’re aiming to enhance the look of your smile, professional teeth whitening is one of the most effective solutions.

At Cherwell Heights Dental Care in Banbury, Oxfordshire, we provide the Boutique teeth whitening system, the leading home whitening brand. Boutique offers safe and effective whitening so you can enjoy a brighter smile with lasting results. We offer teeth whitening to our patients who come from Banbury, Chipping Norton, Bicester, Brackley and surrounding areas.

Why Choose Professional Teeth Whitening?

  • All our treatments are carried out under the care of qualified dental professionals using high-quality, regulated products, ensuring your safety and comfort at every stage.
  • Before starting treatment, we assess your teeth and gums to confirm that whitening is suitable for you.
  • Our at-home whitening options allow you to brighten your smile at a time that suits you, with treatment typically carried out over several weeks using daily applications.
  • In the UK, teeth whitening can only be legally provided by registered dental professionals. Over-the-counter or online whitening products are often ineffective, as they contain very low levels of hydrogen peroxide and deliver minimal results.

How does Boutique Whitening work?

  • Custom Trays – We begin by taking a digital oral scan of your teeth to create your custom-made whitening trays. This is a comfortable and stress-free process as it does not involve the old system of using impression materials.
  • Whitening Gel – At a follow-up appointment, you’ll be shown how to use the trays and apply the Boutique whitening gel safely. You’ll then wear the trays either during the day or overnight for approximately 2-3 weeks.
Flexible Treatment Options

You can choose between:

  • Boutique Daytime – wearing the trays with gel for around 1.5 hours per day
  • Boutique Night-time – wearing the trays with gel while you sleep

FAQs Teeth Whitening

Does teeth whitening damage my teeth or gums?

No. Research shows that dentist-prescribed home whitening treatments are safe when used correctly.

Does teeth whitening hurt?

Teeth whitening is not painful, but some people may experience temporary sensitivity. Two short-term side effects can occur:

Tooth sensitivity or tingling – this is common at the start of treatment and usually settles. We recommend using a desensitising toothpaste for sensitive teeth during treatment. If sensitivity becomes uncomfortable, stop whitening and contact your dentist.

Gum irritation – the whitening gel may occasionally cause mild irritation or temporary white patches on the gums. These are harmless and usually disappear within a week after finishing treatment.

How long does teeth whitening last?

With good oral hygiene and occasional top-up treatments, results can last for a long time. Teeth naturally darken with age, and staining habits such as smoking or consuming tea, coffee, or red wine can reduce longevity. Your whitening trays can be reused in the future with additional gel supplied by our practice.

Can everyone whiten their teeth?

Most people are suitable for teeth whitening, but we always assess your oral health beforehand. Patients with untreated decay or gum disease will need these issues resolved first. Previous fillings and crowns will also not whiten so these may need replacing after whitening.
