Types of Dental Implant Restorations we offer

Single Tooth Implant

If you’re missing just one tooth, a single dental implant topped with a custom-made crown is a highly effective solution that looks and feels like a natural tooth.

Multiple Dental Implants

If you’re missing several teeth, we offer multiple and full mouth implants that have a natural look, function in the same way as natural teeth and provide an excellent alternative to dentures.

Teeth-in-a-day and All-on-4

These innovative dental implant techniques can provide a full arch of teeth supported by just four strategically placed implants, for suitable patients. This allows patients to get a fixed, functional set of new teeth, often on the same day as the implant placement, thus avoiding the usual waiting period.

Complex Implant Cases

We are experienced in complex implant cases, including bone grafts, for those patients who do not have enough bone to support implants, and sinus lifts that add bone to your upper jaw.

Implant Supported Bridge

For patients missing two or more teeth in a row, an implant-supported bridge is a secure and long-lasting option. Instead of relying on natural teeth for support, the bridge is anchored by implants, providing excellent stability and helping preserve bone in the area.

Implant-Retained Dentures

If you’re missing most or all of your teeth, we can offer implant-retained dentures, which offer a more secure alternative to traditional removable dentures. These dentures clip onto strategically placed implants, giving you improved comfort, better chewing ability, and the confidence that they’ll stay firmly in place.

Dental Implant Procedure
at Cherwell Heights Dental Care

We use a carefully planned, step-by-step approach to ensure your implant treatment is safe, comfortable, and successful.

1

Initial Consultation and CBCT Scan

Your journey begins with a detailed consultation. We’ll review your medical and dental history, carry out a thorough examination, and discuss your concerns and smile goals. This appointment is also your opportunity to ask questions and find out whether dental implants are the right solution for you.If implants are suitable, you will then have a CBCT scan. This advanced 3D imaging provides detailed views of your teeth, jawbone, and surrounding structures, allowing us to assess bone quality and plan the implant placement with precision.

2

Personalised Treatment Plan

Using the information from your scan, we’ll create a bespoke treatment plan tailored to your needs. This will outline the implant process, any need for bone grafting, costs involved, and a clear treatment timeline.

3

Implant Placement

The implant is placed into the jawbone during a minor surgical procedure, under local anaesthetic. Dissolvable stitches are used to close the area, and the implant is left to integrate with the bone, a process that typically takes up to 12 weeks. We can provide a temporary restoration during this healing process.

4

Restoration & Final Fit

Dr Farhan will work closely with our dental laboratory to create your custom-made crown, bridge, or denture. Precise impressions or digital scans are taken to ensure an accurate fit. Your final restoration is carefully designed to match your natural teeth in shape, size, and colour and is usually ready around two weeks after scanning.

5

Ongoing Care & Maintenance

We’ll provide clear advice on how to care for your implant. Good oral hygiene and regular check-ups with your dentist and hygienist are essential. With proper care, dental implants can last for many years and often a lifetime.

FAQs Dental Implants

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a titanium screw surgically placed into the jawbone in place of a missing tooth, to act as an artificial tooth root, providing a stable anchor for a replacement crown, bridge, or denture. A dental implant offers a long-lasting and natural-looking solution for missing teeth that looks, feels, and functions like a real tooth.

Can I have dental implants?

Most healthy adults with missing teeth are good candidates for implants. You’ll need enough jawbone to support the implant, and healthy gums. A consultation and CBCT scan will help us determine the best option for you. If you don’t have enough bone to support the implant then there are bone grafting options we can discuss with you.

Are dental implants safe?

Yes, dental implants have a high success rate and have been used safely for decades. They are made from biocompatible materials like titanium that integrate well with the body.

Do dental implants last forever?

Natural teeth need regular maintenance by with a hygienist and your general dentist and the same is true of dental implants. Our treatment plans will include information about aftercare and you personalised maintenance needs. This will include brushing twice a day and cleaning with floss and interdental brushes. Most scientific studies show that the majority of implants are still functioning very well after 10-15 years of service. Assuming you strictly adhere to our maintenance regime, your implants should last at least this long.

Is dental implant treatment painful?

No it isn’t painful as implants are placed after making the gums numb with a local anaesthetic. Most single tooth replacements can be done in 40 – 60 minutes. If required, we can organise sedation to make the procedure completely stress-free, though this isn’t necessary for the majority of patients.

Are all dental implants the same?

No, they are not. There are many different implant brands and they are all very different in their design and quality. At Cherwell Heights Dental Care in Banbury, we have chosen to use a brand with the most extensive published evidence for success, made by Straumann. To find out more about Straumann implants, visit their website here.

How much does dental implant treatment cost in Banbury, Oxfordshire?
